Day 7
Just the perfect day today, started with a warm and bright sun that gave the good morning to us and invited us to explore the lovely town of Taormina, where we had a 2 hour guided sight-seeing tour of the major historical attraction of the area. On top of that, the “crew” had more than 8 hours of free time, that they used in the best possible way: sunbathing on the beach and playing in the crystal clear water in front of Isola Bella, sitting at a bar savoring the best gelato or just doing some shopping in the little alleys of the town. It’ll be our last day town, since tmrw morning we’ll head towards the cape in the north coast to discover the Eolian Island, the first UNESCO natural heritage in Italy. Ready to boarding?
Day 8
We beat the sun to an early rising. Taormina is still sleeping and we can hear the beaches waves hit the rocks while having breakfast. 9 a.m. we are on time for our boat to the Eolian Islands. The sea conditions are calm and able to reflect the sun’s rays like glass. This is why we are able to reach Lipari (Eolian main Island) in only a matter of an hour. Time to discover the town by walking to the castle and getting lost in its small roads. Marina Corta I the perfect spot for a sunny lunch before shopping and returning to the boat for another cruise to the next Island, Vulcano. Here vapor in the air is evidence that volcanic activity is still present. Through the stench of rotten eggs we where able to see the hot springs that are located on this island . After another scenic cruise around Vulcano we are back on the mainland for our last night on the wonderful island of Sicily. Everyone thinks back to the intense but amazing trip that they have had and it is all thanks to our fabulous tour guide Davide. (troppo buoni) By Tiffany
