Covering over 4500 sq. km the Cairngorms (P?irc N?iseanta a’ Mhonaidh Ruaidh) is the biggest national park in Scotland and an idyllic spot to visit for any ecotourist. As well as boasting breath taking scenery, there is plenty to see and do for any green traveller who is looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a time.
If you are looking for somewhere to lay your head that offers life’s luxuries whilst considering the environment then The Dulaig B&B is just the ticket. Located at Grantown-on-Spey the guest house is open all year round and is only 40 miles from Inverness Airport.
One of the attractions to the Cairngorms National Park is the variety of eco-friendly activities that are available throughout the year. Whether you have a penchant for the water, dry land or indeed if you are an animal lover there is something for everyone.
If you are a skier then this is the place for you as the park hosts no less than three of Scotland’s ski centres. For those who prefer their activities to be slightly less extreme there is also walking tours and orienteering available. You can opt for a weekend course or a five day course for those who really want to get stuck in. Either way you’re sure to learn something as well as have a lot of fun.
As well as taking in the activities the Cairngorms has plenty of beautiful scenery and a variety of wildlife to enjoy as you immerse yourself in this stunning park. So why not take a camera along and see if you can spot one of the many wildcats that have made home in the woods or one of the Osprey flying high above.
