Day 5
Early morning we dock the port of Palermo and fall victim to its picturesque beauty, as pretty as a postcard. We board our bus and drive and pick up Laura, our upbeat tour guide for the morning. She take us up to Monreale where we learn about the mosaic remake of God creating man through genesis. We are then lead into another traffic jam before our lunch break. We hit the road for another two hour drive to the South coast to meet Luigi. We take a tour of the valley of the Temples where the perfectly built temple of Concordia was located and enjoyed the sunset. later we reach our hotel in Agrigento where we are reminded of America as we observe that a Mc Donalds is right next door. The group finally receives a good dinner. It turns a quiet night as the students find wi-fi and the adults remains over a couple of drinks. Buona notte!
Day 6
After six intense days of ongoing activities the group finally gets an easy wake up followed by drive through the heart of Sicily, Etna. Different villages popped up here into view. After crossing fields of orange threes we pick up our guide for mont Enta, Simon. Though the spring sun is shining brightly we were still able to witness the snow and hike up one of the mountains craters to experience the scenic view 2000m high up into the clouds over the city of Catania. It is finally time to sled down the last snow bed. Simon and Davide get a running start.We get back to our beautiful hotel on the bay of Isola Bella for dinner. After we gets to enjoy the mon rise reflecting her beauty on the beach next to our terrace. Good night from Taormina. By Tiffany
