Mynatour is proud to announce a fresh and exciting partnership with The Local Travel Movement. The Local Travel Movement is a web platform promoting a better understanding of hat real “local” travel is AND how both the visitor and the local host can get the very best experience from it.
Embracing the same approach, Mynatour is an online social network that provides connections with the host community and independent travellers through the exchange of blogs, personal experiences and genuine local knowledge. Members can share their home expertise with visitors from close by and overseas for the sustainable benefit of the local community whilst conserving the natural environment and respecting its unique way of life.
The Local Travel Movement initiative is new baby (born this very April). Its chief aim is to pull together a pool of like indeed organisations in order to provide a rich source of information for the modern eco-traveller. A person just like you – someone who wants to fully immerse themselves in the authentic local culture, tasting and smelling the delicious home cooked food, learning and enjoying the true celebratory slang as well as the naughtiest swear words. This approach to tourism will allow us to share the joy of real communities and invest in them as opposed to riding on the backs of the package holiday giants with their more generic sea, sand and cruise excursions.
The overall message of the movement is simple; if you, as a traveller, invest your time and resources into a local community you will help to preserve and energise the community itself. In the same way, the people that you visit will get a shared feeling for your background too. Mynatour has joined a growing band of LTM associates (40 companies so far in just 3 weeks) with a positive vision of partnerships between travellers and local economies.
For instance, imagine yourself on your first trip to the South American continent. Using LMT as a more eco-conscious travel compass means that that you can navigate yourself to places and local economies that will really benefit from your adventurous spirit. Did you know that carnivals aren?t just limited to Rio! Discover local travlel and mix with the bustling citizens of the Chinca region in Peru for the second largest carnival on the continent. Discover and share the wonders of the Afro-Peruvian celebrations influenced by Incas, indigenous Andean coastal dwellers, Spanish conquistadors and the ancestors of African people trading. Eat “carapulcra” (a rich, thick stew of dried potatoes, chillies and pork) and then dance the night away for two weeks!
Mynatour is committed to sharing in her partnership with Local Travel Movement to show that travelling is all about equal giving and taking.
