The sun is setting slowly and the Sorrento Gulf is looking wonderful under this magic light! Hotel Flora is facing the Gulf and from our room we can spot the Vesuvio …Pompei tomorrow is waiting for us… here we come!
Day 4
A wonderful Monday morning where we have a brilliant breakfast on the top floor of our hotel in Sorrento. later we begin our daily activity of driving along the scenic Sorrento peninsula on our way to Pompeii. Here we discover the history of this unique city that happened on a lovely and sunny day that take place 200 years ago when Vesuvius erupted and covered the town in ash letting time stand still. We have a quick lunch before heading in the traffic jam of bumper cars of Napoli on the way to the archeological museum full interesting artifacts that help the group to further place together the ancient history. Late in the afternoon we have a hole in our stomachs so we fill it up with the native and delicious Mozzarella di Buffalo in the Margellina center while waiting for our ferry, SNAV SICILIA, to face us to Sicily. When it is time to cast off the group witnesses the wonderful view of the sunset and moon rising directly left of Vesuvius, kissing its slope. The group discovers throughout the night that the ferry itself is an adventure, one that will never be forgotten.
