Though I grew up by the sea, I don?t ever get into water that?s not chlorinated so much that it stings. I put this down to the fact that my nearest bit of beach was full of dead jellyfish killed by the sewage outlet pipe. When our cousins came to stay they swam in next to it and we were amazed they didn?t die. But they?re from Yorkshire and are well hard. Not everyone?s from Yorkshire which is why Surfers Against Sewage are asking you to help make our beaches nice. The Motivocean tour, with the Quiksilver Foundation, myGames (powered by v) and Thames21 comes to Battersea this Bank Holiday. So if you can?t make it to the seaside, tell Chris you?ll help him clean up the shore at Battersea instead and reclaim the Thames from the trash. / Johanna Derry
