London will once again be transformed into a cyclists’ paradise with the return of the Mayor of London’s Sky Ride (Central London 5 September), promising to be the biggest mass participation cycling event ever held in the capital.
Events across the UK
Organised by the Mayor of London and Sky, this year 12 Sky Ride events will take place in 10 major cities across the UK this summer, with smaller local rides taking place across the country, including the Mayor of London’s Sky Ride Ealing (18 July) and Mayor of London’s Sky Ride Redbridge on (15 August).
Free events for all abilities
Each of these events will have traffic-free streets, enabling cyclists to enjoy a day of cycling with family and friends. The free events aim to encourage thousands of people, of all ages and abilities, to get on their bikes.
Cycle with celebs
Sky Ride is being backed by a line-up of celebrities and pro-cyclists this year. Participants will be able to ride alongside Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and Bradley Wiggins, as well as celebrities Kelly Brook, Lorraine Kelly, Jamelia, Gemma Atkinson, Gethin Jones and Jean Christophe Novelli.
The Mayor of London Sky Rides provide a unique opportunity to see London in a new light. It’s a fantastic chance for everyone to enjoy a day of cycling.
