One of the most beautiful national parks on the North American continent, Banff has plenty to offer for the eco-tourist visiting Canada.
There is plenty to do in Banff but before you get started you will want a base for your trip so why not check out The Hostel Bear. This hostel has some great reviews and its amenities and location are as good as you are likely to find. The hostel has everything you will need and offers both communal and private rooms. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, you will wake to one of the most stunning views you can imagine.
When it comes to transportation in Banff, cycling comes highly recommended. The roads are safe and there are various bike rental locations scattered around the park. With nearly 200 kilometres of mountain biking trails, as well as safe roads, this park is a cyclist haven. If you are a keen cyclist then it’s recommended that you visit between May and October.
When it comes to organised activities in Banff there really is no shortage of things to do and different ways to see the park. There are boat tours, horse riding, kayaking, guided sight-seeing tours and mountaineering. However, there is no way of obtaining a better view than to take the gondola trip, so why not enjoy the park from over 7000 feet up.
In 1997 the Heritage Tourism Strategy was formed. Since then more and more has been done to ensure that the park becomes self-sustaining and that visitors are educated on everything they need to know to do their part for the environment when visiting one of the world’s oldest and most beautiful national parks
