2010 marks the beginning of Mynatour?s biggest and most exciting adventure yet – and we?re going to share it with you everyday online. We are going to transport you to South Africa – home of the 2010 World Cup – and a place that will experience one of the biggest environmental impacts of any sporting event in history and try to promote some advices to make it, just, a little bit greener. A campaign to promote environmental responsibility during the world cup …follow us…
Before the eyes of the world fix on South Africa later on in the year, the Mynatour Team will be taking you on a pioneering eco-road trip around the World Cup route. Our mission is to bring you a fresh, never before seen glimpse of the travel potential of this incredible country and to deliver an eco-tourist guide bursting with sights, tastes and experiences.
South Africa is leading the field in responsible tourism and has been listed in the developing world?s “Top 10 Best Ethical Destinations.” It also contains some of the best nature destinations in the world.
Ultimately, our aim is to ride the powerful wave of worldwide attention on South Africa 2010 to discover the best sustainable practices and possibilities for eco tourism.
From the 15th of February to the 16th of March Mynatour will be transporting you over 6000k ?s in a travel route we call the “green halo”. To keep things as clean and green as possible, we have chosen to carpool. Our route will take in the 9 main South Africa world cup host cities. Our journey will start from beautiful Cape Town, home to the iconic Table Mountain. Then we?ll explore the south and enjoy some cliff top whale watching. Next, we will travel to the east coast to experience the famous golden stretches of beaches before heading north to the wonders of the spectacular game reserves and Kruger National Park.
