Passport and Visa


Ideally, if you are going to travel to a foreign land you would need a passport and a visa. However, if you are a neighboring country, then you will no longer need visa. If you are from the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Macao, Chile Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Peru, or Morocco, then you don't need to have visa in order to visit Bali, Indonesia. If you are not from the aforementioned countries, you should prepare $25 to pay for your visa upon arrival. The visa is valid for only 30 days, but extendable. Aside from that, your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of entry to Indonesia. A departure tax of 150,000Rp per person should be paid at the airport.

Travel Insurance


Travel insurance is a must, especially if you are travelling in a foreign land. If you are travelling to Bali, then the more you need to have insurance because there are various sports activities in Bali than can put your health at stake including surfing, scooter ride, and other outdoor activities.

Bring your credit card with you


Bringing cold cash is not always a good idea. It would be safer if you are going to bring credit card with you when traveling. When doing so, you should first inform your bank about your plan of travelling and don't forget to give them your contact details overseas. If you are going to use your credit card in Indonesia, you have to double check the machine first and make sure that it is legitimate. If you are in doubt to use credit card, then might as well your cold cash.

Keep your health in its optimum condition


The sanitation and healthcare standards in Indonesia is not that high as compared to other highly developed nation. To remain healthy, you should first have yourself vaccinated for flu, typhoid, and hepatitis A. As much as possible, you should talk to your doctor about the available local vaccines. Furthermore, the tap water in Bali is not ideal for drinking. Hence, you shouldn't drink from an unknown source. As much as possible, you should stick to bottled water for drinking, or even brushing teeth. Avoid buying ice from local stores too, not unless it is sold from convenience stores.

Valuable items you should bring with you


When traveling to Bali, you shouldn't forget your emergency kit. You should also bring with you moisturizer, sun block, pain reliever, and medication for diarrhea.
