Yasuni National Park - Ecuador

Towards the north east of Ecuador sits the Yasuni National Park. At nearly 10,000 square kilometres the park is renowned for being one of the most biologically diverse areas on the planet. Any eco tourist with a love for fauna and flora will not be disappointed as Yasuni has an abundance of both to be enjoyed. It is said that almost half of all mammal species that live in the amazon make their home at Yasuni National Park.

Jarabacoa - The Dominican Republic

Chiquibul National Park

Flaming Crater, Derweze - Turkmenistan

Derweze is an isolated village in Turkmenistan with a very sparse population of just 350 inhabitants located in the middle of the Karakum Desert. The Derweze Area is rich in natural gas. Whilst drilling in 1971, geologists tapped into a cavern filled with this gas, and the ground beneath the drilling rig collapsed, leaving a huge gaping wound in the Earth's very crust about 70m (230ft) in diameter.
