Discovering Laos with Teamworkz Mario's Adventure - Day 1 - Arrival in Pakse

By Laeti, 10/07/2012 - 03:02

"One of the most exciting sensations to experience is to cross a border" wrote Ryszard Kapucinsky in his book "A trip with Erodotus". That geo-political boundary dividing two states can be a valley, a river, a mountain or even.....nothing. Very often it is just a line on a geographical map and if we call it border (from the Latin cum + finis), it means something is coming to an end on one side, but something else is certainly starting on the other.

For the Love of Nature

The sunlight shot through the blinds and into my tightly closed eyes right at dawn. Instead of fighting the early morning wake up call, I welcomed it. Yet another day in Santa Lucia Ecolodge; I rejoiced! Silently, I slipped out the wooden door passed my sleeping roommate. Pots and pans clanged from the kitchen as the boys started preparing breakfast. I quickly slid by them with a quick "Buenas Dias" and met with the cold cement floor of the shower. Three months ago you'd of never found me out of bed before 8am but these days my habits have changed.

Travelling is just one of those things I love to do. The travel experience falls into simple categories for me, those which predominately I try to keep an open mind towards. Categories like the surrounding area and facilities, impacting scenery, food it's quality & local passions depending what's on offer and the engaging places that it is worshipped, accommodation options if I stay over, price impact, and the climatic atmosphere, which by the way are not in any particular order.

After one year of Facebook friendship, one day he told me "I love you". The next month he was flying from Rome to Quito. Everybody told us we were crazy, and surely we were a bit. After this first encounter, which lasted 2 weeks, we continued our cyber-romance and five months later we were still together and choosing a new place to meet: Galapagos!!

Galapagos (Day 5) - Giant Tortoises

Our last day in the Galapagos. A few of us thought about where we can hide on the boat, so we can stay. Breakfast was early this morning. We were off to the giant tortoise conservation park at 7:15AM. Our luggages were taken off the boat during breakfast and checked through to Baltra airport without us.
