Discovering Laos with Teamworkz Mario's Adventure - Day 5 - Swimming in the air

By Laeti, 10/10/2012 - 01:07

Awakening is again in the room 409 of Champasak Palace. What happened between the temple on the mountain of Champasak and my hotel in Pakse named after has been a long and never-ending dream. Such a real dream that waking up I still think I'm being cuddled by the waters pushing Vat Phou Boat, whereas it's just the residual water drops coming from the sky after the night monsoon.

Discovering Laos with Teamworkz Mario's Adventure - Day 2 - Pakse Vat Phou Boat

By Laeti, 10/09/2012 - 00:43

Champasak Palace is something more than a hotel, it was built by a local prince in the 50s in order to make it its residence. Something got wrong with the revolution and, forced to flee to France, he had to leave the building unaccomplished. So it became a hotel, clinging on a little hill overlooking the city, every room is like a small apartment and the one where I wake up, on the fourth floor, is lighted by that glowing sun that follows a rainy night.

Arrived in HK at around 7pm, had no idea where i was going to stay for the night, so pulled out my laptop and discovered that luckily for me there was free WiFi access in the airport! Did a quick Google and and found a cheap hostel in Kowloon. Phoned up and booked a room for the night.

Driving from L.A. to Grand Canyon....what an experience!

There is an unwritten rule that Gay men must visit certain places at least once in their lifetime. San Francisco check , Berlin check, Sydney check, London check - now where next? I'm feeling in the mood for a party, but I want to be somewhere with guaranteed sunshine and a beach. I want to shop till I drop, immerse myself in the culture and maybe get close to nature. Miami seems to tick all the boxes, so flight booked, bag packed watch out South Beach here I come!
