The Agriculture Movement of Misiones, MAM Yerba Mate Titrayju: Land, Work and Justice - North East of Argentine. The Rio Parana cooperative involves a group of agricultural activities that give small producers access to tools, common land and the professional education necessary for processing their products. In some cases, the cooperative involves itself in the entire production process and enables the small producers to avoid dealing with middlemen who generally take more than 50% of the cost of the final sale.

Tourism and Post-Tsunami Displacement in India and Sri Lanka

The Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 was the biggest natural disaster in modern history and it called for a pan-Asian relief effort on a scale that had never before been seen. The immediate impact on the coastal communities affected not only their lives, homes and villages, but also their livelihoods. Many survivors fished to earn their living, farmed close to the sea or relied on low scale tourism.

In a way this process can be described as a search of alternative and responsible tourism that would be an antithesis of mass tourism.

Opening the Akilah Institute for Women in Rwanda

The Akilah Institute for Women is located in the Bugesera district of Rwanda, 35 minutes from the capital of Kigali. During the 1994 genocide , this region was severely targeted by militias; more than 80 percent of the Tutsi population was killed. Today, Bugesera has the highest rate of child-headed households in the country.
